Davidoff of Geneva names Appointed Merchant for Northwest Arkansas
The Cigar District becomes exclusive retailer for full Davidoff portfolio
BENTONVILLE, Ark., May 17, 2019
The Cigar District will now carry Davidoff cigar product lines offered only to retailers designated as "Appointed Merchants." Products include Davidoff’s core “white label” cigars such as Davidoff Aniversario, Davidoff Signature, Davidoff Grand Cru, Davidoff Millennium Blend, & more. In addition to Davidoff’s core cigars, TCD has been granted access to other lines that are exclusive to appointed retailers. This includes the 97-rated Davidoff Nicaragua, Escurio, the 90-rated Yamasa, and the recently released, 92-rated Winston Churchill Late Hour cigars.
Davidoff launched the Appointed Merchant program in the U.S. in 1990 to help establish close and longstanding partnerships with trusted retailers in order to help grow businesses, align on best practices, and contribute towards the increased growth of the Davidoff brand. At the time there were just 25 select Appointed Merchants. One of only three in the state of Arkansas, The Cigar District is the exclusive Davidoff Appointed Merchant in Northwest Arkansas

It’s no coincidence that the Appointed Merchant status was granted in conjunction with the development of The Cigar District’s modern, standalone 2-story building at the corner of 6th and SE “A” in Bentonville since Davidoff reserves the AM status exclusively for those retailers that can provide Davidoff customers with an upscale shopping experience.
The owners of The Cigar District, Bobby & Johnna Duncan, hope that their new shop will become a destination location based on their unique offerings which include a wide selection of cigars kept in a one-of-kind walk-in humidor along with multiple lines of premium men’s gifts, pipes, and accessories. While the first floor is dedicated to retail and customer lounge spaces the second floor is The Refuge @ The Cigar District, a members-only space that includes a rooftop patio, lounge, meeting room and private humidified lockers. Elan Creative, the interior design team hired by the Duncan’s, took inspiration from Davidoff lounges around the country while creating the look and feel of The Cigar District.

World-class experience comes to Northwest Arkansas
The Cigar District opens in downtown Bentonville
BENTONVILLE, Ark., April 30, 2019 – A new retail concept, The Cigar District, has opened in downtown Bentonville. The boutique retailer specializes in cigars, pipes and specialty men’s gifts including leather goods, humidors and accessories from premiere brands such as Bellroy, Brizard, and ST Dupont. The Cigar District is located at Celebration Plaza which is a new two-story, multi-tenant facility located on the corner of Southeast A and 6th Streets in Bentonville.
Owners Bobby and Johnna Duncan are long-time residents of Bentonville. In 2017, they purchased a small cigar shop with a desire to grow and expand over time. Their vision was to offer entirely new yet complementary to other developments as part of the downtown retail and entertainment hub.
“Cigars are very much an artisan product so there’s something unique and distinctive about every cigar we sell,” says Bobby Duncan, co-owner of The Cigar District. “Along with providing handcrafted premium products we make a point to cultivate that strong sense of fellowship and community which is relished by those who truly enjoy cigars and pipe tobacco.”
The Cigar District combines a traditional, smoke-free retail shop where cigar and pipe aficionados can purchase from a well-stocked humidor (thousands of cigars!) and pipe area then sit and enjoy the products in climate- and ventilation-controlled customer lounge. The second floor is devoted to The Refuge, a Members-only space, featuring individual humidified lockers, private meeting room, upscale member’s lounge, and rooftop patio where Members can enjoy their cigars and beverages while viewing the bustling skies thanks to nearby Thaden Field.
In addition to The Cigar District and The Refuge, Celebration Plaza will also be home to OnRetail, a CPG supplier services firm.
Celebration Plaza was designed by Harrison French architect Lori Filbeck and built by Oelke Construction. The state-of-the art humidor which is filled throughout with Spanish cedar is the work of Allen Burchette, owner of All in Cue Woodworks and Billiards.
